Molding is where a room earns its character — and where shortcuts show. At JZ Custom Woodwork, every profile runs through our own 5-head molder, so we can cut crown, casing, base, and panel stock to any profile you need: matched to existing woodwork down to the eighth of an inch, or drawn from scratch for a new build.

No outsourcing, no waiting on a third-party mill, no settling for the closest stock profile at the lumberyard. We've milled Sarasota's finest interiors since 1993 — for the contractors and designers who can't afford to let the trim be the weak point.

Can you match the existing molding in my home?
Yes — profile matching is one of the things we are known for. We measure or take a sample of the existing profile, grind custom knives to match it, and mill new stock that blends seamlessly. It is essential for additions, renovations, and historic restorations.
What is a 5-head molder, and why does it matter?
A 5-head molder shapes all four sides of a board in a single pass using custom-ground knives. Having one in-house means we create profiles ourselves instead of outsourcing — faster turnaround, total quality control, and the freedom to produce any profile you want.
Can you create a completely custom molding profile?
Absolutely. Bring a drawing, a photo, or even a fragment of an old profile, and we will grind knives and mill it. There is no catalog limit on what we can produce.
What wood species can molding be milled in?
Any species — domestic classics like oak, maple, cherry, walnut, and hickory, plus exotics like mahogany, teak, and Brazilian cherry. If your design calls for it, we can source it and mill it.
Do you supply molding to contractors and designers, or only homeowners?
Our work is primarily for the trade — contractors, builders, and interior designers across Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, and the surrounding area. We are glad to work directly with discerning homeowners on the right project too.
